We refreshed our popular dataset on discussion of AI-related topics in earnings calls, now including data as of August 31st. We identify companies with high, low, or changing mentions of artificial intelligence from 2022 to 2024.
- NVIDIA Corp $NVDA, unsurprisingly, tops the list and has been talking about AI consistently since 2022.
- Among the top 100, the only three non-tech companies are Radnet Inc $RDNT, Coursera Inc $COUR, and Digital Realty Trust $DLR.
- Asana Inc. $ASAN and Hackett Group Inc. $HCKT went from no AI-related mentions in 2022 to being in the 98th percentile and above for AI-related mentions in 2024.
- Two healthcare firms – CareDx Inc. $CDNA and Lantheus Holdings Inc. $LNTH – have gone the other way and been quiet on the AI front recently.
On a sector level:
- Tech firms are still obsessed with AI, with over 7 times more mentions than in 2022 (from 1117 to a whopping 8305).
- Industrials (e.g. consulting, electrical equipment) and Comm. Services (e.g. internet, advertising) take the silver and bronze. However, mentions of AI from the tech sector alone are 5 times more than these two sectors combined.
- Healthcare has moved to fourth on the list from second place in 2022.
- Utilities, Materials, and Energy remain the bottom three as these companies tend to be indirect beneficiaries of AI compared to direct monetization.
The table below shows the top 10 non-tech subsectors with the highest mentions of AI:
To contrast the sector differences, we also included the AI mentions for all technology sub-sectors:
